Bonsai Gardening and Indoor Bonsai Plants
The best time of year to start a bonsai plant is in the summer. Select a woody plant about 8 to 15 inches tall and a suitable container. Wooden containers or even a rock as a container are also used. Pots with two or more holes will help you wire plants into the desired form.
The bottom of the container should be covered with a layer of gravel, and then the gravel should be covered with a layer of sand. The growth of the bonsai depends largely on the drainage, so the pots should have excellent drainage. The layer of sand should then be covered with a light layer of potting soil and so a good mixture should be made of potting soil, peat and sand.

These are certain tips which can help you plant your first set of bonsai trees.
