How to remove poison oak

a. Remove the poison oak during the coolest part of the day, because the poison is most potent towards open pores, like when you are sweating.  Wear something that you can dispose of over clothes made of cotton. Wear a disposable gloves, hat and suit. You also want to put some rubber chemical gloves over the disposable ones. If you start to sweat you have to stop.

b. Every time you break a sweat you have to remove the disposable clothes and put them in a bag, making certain to seal the bag.  You also must change your clothes and wash the clothes that you just removed separately from other clothes.  When you shower, make certain that you use soap for poison oak.

c.  Put the poison oak plants in heavy duty bags and make certain that there aren't any holes in the bag. Do not leave the bags open, and you have to treat the bags with the plants and the discarded disposable clothes with the same amount of care as the plants themselves.

d.  Any tools that you used in the clearing need to be cleaned twice with denatured alcohol.  You clean them first with one pair of gloves, and then with a brand new pair of gloves. Make certain that you clean anything that the first pair of gloves touched while cleaning.

e.  Make certain that all clothing and shoes that you wore will cleaning are washed before you handle them in a normal fashion again.

f.   When you are clearing the poison oak, make certain that you have removed all the roots. When you have finished, go back in fifteen minutes and look for black oil. That will  tell you if you have missed any.
