Trapping Gophers
One of the garden's most annoying pests is a gopher, so this will tell you how to catch and eliminate gophers from your garden.
First you want to buy gopher two gopher traps at a store that sells garden supplies, and set them according to the directions that will come with them. You can keep your scent off of the traps by wearing gloves when you set them up. If the gopher smells you on it, it won't come near the trap.
Next you'll want to find the main tunnel that the gophers are using with a long metal pole.. You'll know that you have found the right one because it won't have any debris in it, like the tunnels that aren't used anymore will have.
Using a shovel, dig up the main tunnel and open it up. When the tunnel is open, place the two traps inside facing away from one another. This way you'll catch the gopher no matter which way he is going You can use dry cat food or vegetables to bait the traps. You want to make certain that the traps are wedged in the tunnel tightly, and then fill in the ends with soil and cover the whole thing with a board.
Once you have your traps set, check the traps and reset them if they need to be. If a few days have passed without success, move the traps to another location. Once you have caught a gopher, remove the body and wrap it in plastic and paper before putting it in the trash.
