Garden Accents

If you need to jazz up your garden, accents are one of the easiest things to add. They don’t usually require any extra care and can really give the space a finished and polished look. In case you’re thinking that Garden gnomes are the only accessory, let’s go over some really unique accents that will help you personalize your garden.

Gazing balls are some of the most popular accents on the market. They come in many different shades and can be placed on a stand anywhere in your garden. Many people use them as central accent for their flower garden. They look gorgeous when the sun hits them and they really add a lot of interest to your outdoor space. If you’re not quite ready for a gazing ball, try a simple birdbath or basin in the middle of your garden. The birds will definitely thank you for it.

Wind chimes are wonderful garden accents that can add to the tranquility of your outdoor space. There are many different varieties in all shapes and sizes. Some of the newest models offer tubular bells that are tuned to play snippets of popular songs when the wind hits them. These are terrific for larger gardens or they can even be hung from your patio. If you have a small garden, or neighbors that don’t appreciate loud wind chimes, there are smaller bamboo varieties that look great and make some noise, but not too much.

Garden path stones are a great finishing touch for any garden. Lay them down in an even path or go off road and get creative with their placement. Use materials such as terra cotta to warm up a garden space, or go with a mix of stones to bring some whimsy into the picture.

Garden Accents

Your garden should reflect the personality and your individual style. It should be decorated and designed in ways that you, yourself, like and enjoy.

Garden accents should be attractive and eye-catching. This could include a focal point in the style, such as Garden gnomes, a birdhouse, a fountain, or whatever fits your personality. Designing your garden should be fun and relaxing. When choosing garden accents, there are a few steps you should take first to ensure your garden will present the beauty and other results you are striving for.

First you should determine the location of your garden and consider how this will effect the accents you will later choose to incorporate into the final design. The location is important, especially if the accents you use will require specific amounts of sunlight or less accessible for children and animals, as well as the location will determine the types of plants and flowers planted.

You should consider the amount of available area, after planting, for which your accents will require. (i.e. Garden furniture will require a larger area than a garden gnome, and a garden fountain or pond will require water connections and electrical access, which will mean these will need to be placed in an easily accessible area.)

Finally, you will need to search and choose the garden accent which fits your personality, will portray the desired end results, and will function properly in the available space. With the various accents available, you may choose from several accent designs and include one main accent as a focal point for your garden. Or, you may simply opt for a single garden accent. Garden accents come in a wide variety, from garden furniture, Garden gnomes and other unusual pieces, to garden fountains and ponds, and birdhouses. The accents in your garden would be best if they can be easily moved around to different locations within your garden. This will be a great help in future design plans, as anything too permanent will prevent any design changes or relocation in the future.

When purchasing your garden accents and accessories, it is best to shop where garden experts and advisors are available. If you are not sure about the accent you have chosen, you can get help and advice from someone who is more trained in this area and who can direct you to the garden accents which will work best for your garden.

Garden accents can add tremendous benefits to gardeners in any situation and beautify your garden, through the creation of adding your personality to the garden you design.
