Decorating concrete with leaves

If you use leaves to decorate your concrete walkway, you can give it a very unique and special look, rather than simply having flat concrete slabs.  Decorating is easy and fun to do, and will give your walkway a special look.

a.  Decide on what kind of pattern you will want to use for your walkway, along with what kinds of leaves you want to use.

b.  Don't try and rush around the day that the concrete is being poured.  Gather all of your leaves before then.  You can either find them on the ground, or if you know what you are specifically looking for you can go to a nursery.

c.  On the day of the concrete pouring, start preparing your design by laying out the leaves that you have gathered.  But don't start decorating until after all the concrete has been laid.

d.   To give your design texture, put the underside of the leaves on the concrete.  If you want to decorate the middle of the concrete, use an extension pole to place the leaves where you want them to be.

e.  Make certain that you don't submerge the leaves when you put them in the concrete, that they are only in there enough that they will stick.  Leave the leaves in there until the concrete is set and dry.

f.   After the concrete is dry and set, wash the leaves away.

Now you have a beautiful and unique looking walkway that people will look at and admire for years to come.
