Organizing a Neighborhood Yard Cleanup

Taking great pride and care about the environment can be a huge step for many people, and it will often show through their yards. It is always nice to look at a yard that is well maintained, and looks healthy. For those that are proactive about their yard care, they can organize a neighborhood yard cleanup, which will benefit those in the neighborhood, as well as their lawns.

Making a block part out of cleaning up yards in the neighborhood can be a lot of fun. The organizers can announce the local clean up through the community bulletin, or by posting flyers around the neighborhood. This is often an effective means of telling others that there will be block parties for a neighborhood yard clean up. Many families will often come together in order to keep the yards clean. Families can break off into sections, and can clean their own yards, or can gather together and can clean yards in groups. This can also be a lot of fun, and can teach children about the variations of flowers in gardens, as well as how to properly care for flowers and the likes thereof. Adults can often do the heavier work, such as cutting limbs from trees, and pruning bushes, while the children can rake leaves and dispose of bags of mulch.  Suggesting a large get together at the end of the day with food, music and refreshments can be the perfect ending to a day spent outside among family and friends, all the while helping the environment.
