Everyone loves roses.  They are eloquent flowers that can be placed into and garden and enjoyed by all.  Not only do they possess this elegant beauty but they also have their own unique fragrance which will fill your summertime garden.  You should be aware that before you plant certain roses that they will be able to withstand the harsher winters that you may experience especially if you live in northern states.  Down south more roses have a chance to survive, but you should always look for seasonally grown roses from the local area or the region.

Every year, florists come out with new versions which seem to outdo the previous year’s bunch.  This year is no different.  One of the 2008 roses is the exciting Imposter which is actually a star rose.  This star rose is dark shaded rose pink petals with an even darker star shaped print which grows as the flower matures.  What makes this flower even more special is that inside it is gold colored giving it that superstar appeal.  For those passionate romantics a new red rose is out called the Ruby Ruby which is a passionately red rose.

Other roses that are out for the 2008 rose season include the Coffee Bean rose which is a brownish red colored rose, the Wing Ding rose which is a deep red with a pale yellow interior, Jacob’s Ladder which is a multi color rose and the Wnner’s Circle which is a crimson colored rose with vibrant orange accents.  There are plenty of roses to choose from this year’s classy and sophisticated rose collection.

More and more people are incorporating butterfly gardens in their garden.  They are unique and a beautiful addition.  Even though they are popping up everywhere nowadays you will probably be one of the few to have a butterfly garden in your neighborhood.  If you are up to a new project follow these simple steps to create a butterfly garden in your back yard today.

• Find the perfect space in your garden to create a butterfly garden.  The best spaces are those with fertile soil that is moist but also able to release water.  If there is a heavy rainfall this area does not accumulate water.  It should also be in direct sunlight.
• Use a cultivator to cultivate the area of a depth of no more than 15 inches deep.
• Each plant should be planted no more than ten feet apart but no closer than five feet.  The whole that you create should also be double the diameter of the plant that you will be planting.
• You can then remove the plant from its pot and place it into the ground making sure that it is parallel to the ground just as it was in the pot.
• Fill the hole with soil and then add peat moss or mulch around the top in order to make sure the water does not escape.
• You should keep the mulch around the bottom of the plant always and feed it with fertilizer to make sure it grows up healthy with the right nutrients.
• Water the plant as necessary especially in those drier summer months.

This is how to create beautiful butterfly garden in which you will attract all of the butterflies in the neighborhood.

Gardens can be quite stunning but if you have a large space (medium size spaces work too) you may want to consider purchasing a pool.  In ground pools work the best to show off your garden and lawn space.  It will be the center of attention but it also works as a beautiful equalizer between garden and pool area.  If you were thinking about a rock garden, it may benefit you more to install an in ground pool at is made of rocks and slave so that it blends in with nature much better than from other forms of pools.

Your pool will be seen from every visual aspect whether it be from the street, from the house, from the driveway etc.  These pools can be made out of a variety of materials such as brick, flagstone and tile which can be used as complements to your surrounding garden.  You should also think about the lighting of a pool.   By lighting your pool with ground lights you will be able to accent the pool and the surrounding garden so that it is seen day and night.  The lighting also serves as a great safety feature in case one is not aware that you have a pool in your garden.

These pools do not have to be huge so you do not need a large garden.  You can even put in a Jacuzzi instead of a pool which can be made out of the same materials and still give your garden that special effect.  Jacuzzis are actually very good for intimate gardens.  These water additions are perfect for any garden setting as they bring elegance and tranquility to your garden.  They are not necessarily meant to be used as Spring Break neighborhood party pools yet you can always use them to cool down.  They are more for you to highlight your garden and to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
